Etang de Villaine offers some of the best carp fishing in France, with past lake records of 68lb 12oz mirror carp and 64lb 8z common carp. Our 6-acre stream-fed lake dates back to Napoleonic times and is set in 37 acres of beautiful French countryside. The lake is partially surrounded by evergreen, willow and oak trees. Planted bamboo and shrubs provide both shelter and shade for all weather conditions. The lake boasts 2 double swims and 3 singles. Each swim has been extended with stained wooden boarders and are wood chipped annually, providing a comfortable and spacious area for bivvies and rods. Wooden platforms have been constructed for easy fish catch and release access. Pergolas also sit either side of the lake with a picnic bench and solar lighting to enjoy your meals.

A new stock pond has been placed in close proximity to the fisherman's lodge. This exciting addition to the lake will house the next generation of linear and common carp.

Etang de Villaine is owned by a British Carp Angler with over 30 years of fishing experience. The lake is managed by the bailiff, who graduated from Sparsholt University with a Degree in Sports Fisheries and Aquaculture. Advice and help provided onsite makes the lake suitable for both a beginner and the most discerning of carp anglers.
